Duomo di Verona

Duomo Verona, Italy

Discover the most beautiful and precious church of the city Duomo di Verona

The cathedral of Santa Maria Matricolare (also called the duomo) is the main place of Catholic worship in the city of Verona, cathedral of the diocese of the same name. It was erected after two buildings on the same site were destroyed by an earthquake in 1117. Built in the Romanesque style, the cathedral was consecrated on 13 September 1187. The structure was subsequently changed by several renovations, although the plan remained unchanged.
