Museo di Castelvecchio

Museum Verona, Italy

Collections of medieval, renaissance and modern art at the Museo di Castelvecchio

The Castelvecchio museum is one of the most important museums in Verona, mainly dedicated to Italian and European art. The castle was built between 1354 and 1356 by Cangrande II della Scala to have a fortified nucleus controlling the Adige at the northern access to the city, after the conspiracy of his half-brother Fregnano della Scala.
