The structure is an architectural jewel thanks to the construction project of Santiago Calatrava. The interiors are very minimal and functional.

Designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the Mediopadana station is an integral part of an important project that radically modifies the entire area north of the city and which makes it the main and most prestigious gateway. Together with the system of sail bridges over the Autostrada del Sole, also designed by the Valencian archistar, and the new toll booth, it forms the new aesthetic and functional complex of Reggio Emilia.
