Golden Gate Park

Park San Francisco, California

San Francisco's green lung Golden Gate Park

Gardens, meadows, peaceful ponds, that's Golden Gate Park, SF's green lung: a typical urban park where everyone, from the newcomer to the regular resident, can find something nice to see and do. While touring the Park, you'll surely notice how many locals attend Golden Gate Park playing many kind of sports, having a pic-nic, paddling in the tiny Stow Lake or horse riding along the many trails. S.Francisco's population does love this park!.

In this park there's a moltitude of choices to spend your time: in the nortwest corner you will find the cultural heart, as well as the impressive American bison cattle; on the northern side there's the Young Museum and its world-class Classical art exposition, don't lose the chance to get on the elevator and reach the top floor of the massive asymmetrical museum's tower (tower's entrance is completely free) and enjoy the amazing view of the city and its bay on the Pacific. In front of the museum you will find the California Academy of Sciences with its planetarium and aquarium, a rainforest and a natural history museum. Just nearby you can walk into the Japanese Tea Garden, exceptionally beautiful during springtime. These are just a fraction of the many amenities Golden Gate Park has to offer, things that you can easily discover by bike; in case you decide to rent one, you can go along Stanyan Street and Haight Street and find your perfect match.
