The World Trade Center Transportation Hub, aka The Oculus, is the new transport hub in the underground area of Lower Manhattan within the World Trade Center towers 2 and 3.
This massive structure shows this wonderful glass vault rising from the ground up to the sky, as to symbolically embody the rebirth of New York City after the terror attack of 9/11. The Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, with this piece of work aimed to represent a white dove flying away from the hand of a child. One of the main key points of the Oculus is the Westfield World Trade Center, a shopping mall opened the 16th August 2016, developing on the sides of the structure, completely managed by the Westfield Corporation. The new shopping center replaces the late popular The Mall, located in the World Trade Center and wiped out during the attacks.
