Santuario Madonna della Corona

Sanctuary Lake Garda, Italy

A place of silence and meditation Santuario Madonna della Corona

The sanctuary of the Madonna della Corona is located in Spiazzi, in a hollow dug into Mount Baldo. The first church was inaugurated in 1530, after the visit of Bishop Gian Matteo Giberti, but about 100 years later, when the Knights of Malta had the church rebuilt, it became a sanctuary, completed in 1680.

Once it was accessible only through a climb of steps from the village of Brentino in Vallagarina, today it can also be reached via an asphalted road after the village of Spiazzi, which ends in a tunnel dug into the rock in 1922, where the painting of the Madonna is exhibited .
