The Goa Gajah temple also known as the Elephant Cave is located on the island of Bali about 2 kilometers from Ubud. The cave was fully discovered in 1950 by a group of Dutch archaeologists. The origins of the cave are mysterious, a local folklore legend has it that it was created with the claws of the mythological giant named Kebo Iwa, legendary ruler of the kingdom of Bali.
