Torre Del Popolo

Tower Assisi, Italy

This almost fifty meters high tower is located in the Piazza del Comune, in the middle between the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo and the church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva. The construction of this tower dates back to the end of the XIII century. Note the plaque at the base with the measurements and thicknesses of the materials used for the construction and the beautiful portal with the coat of arms of the notaries above it, whose presence is due to the fact that it had become the seat of their College since the 16th century.
