Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep is a Theravada Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai Province. The temple is often referred to as "Doi Suthep", the name of the mountain on which it is situated. It is located 15 km from the city of Chiang Mai and is a sacred place for many Thais. From the temple it is possible to admire a spectacular view of Chiang Mai, and this characteristic makes it a popular tourist destination.
