Cinecittà

Cinema Rome, Italy

Cinecittà

Istituto Luce-Cinecittà is the public company that operates as the operational arm of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, and one of the main realities in the cinematographic sector, with a variety of commitments and activities that translate into the broader mission of support to Italian cinematography and audiovisuals. Cinecittà is a unique and international pole capable of uniting the entire cinema and audiovisual supply chain: from production to promotion, to training (with courses, seminars, Erasmus exchanges), to the discovery of the world of entertainment for everyone. More than 3,000 films have been shot in Cinecittà, 90 of which received an Oscar nomination, 47 of which won the prestigious statuette. Famous national and international directors have worked there: from Federico Fellini to Francis Ford Coppola, from Luchino Visconti to Martin Scorsese.

World-renowned filmmakers such as Federico Fellini, Roberto Rossellini, Luchino Visconti, Sergio Leone, Bernardo Bertolucci, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, and Mel Gibson have worked at Cinecittà. More than 3,000 movies have been filmed there, of which 90 received an Academy Award nomination and 47 of these won it. In the 1950s, the number of international productions being made there led to Rome being dubbed "Hollywood on the Tiber."
