The Basilica San Sebastiano is in the IVth mile of the ancient Via Appia.It was built under the Costantine emperor in the IVth century a.c. The church is dedicated to the apostles Peter and Paul.

The Basilica San Sebastiano is located in the IVth mile of the ancient Via Appia. According to a myth, in this church Christians took St.Peter's and Paul's remains during the persecutions. At the beginning it was called Basilica Apostolarum,on the contrary nowadays the church is dedicated to the famous french saint St.Sebastian. The word "catacomb"comes from this district called "ad catacumbas". Through a stair you can visit the catacombs of San Sebastiano.
