It is one of the largest squares in Paris. Its original name is Place de l'Etoile but in 1970 it was renamed Place du General de Gaulle, in honor of the great French president.
This is a famous square thanks to the twelve roads that cling to around it. One of these roads is the famous Avenue des Champs-Elysées. All the twelwe roads form a star. You could admire fully this square with a great view from the top. In the center of the square you can see the most important monument of France, after the Eiffel tower, a great war monument: L’ Arc de Triomphe.
