The Carnavalet Museum represents Parisian history and art, in fact it is also called "Museum of the History of Paris". It is located on the 3rd arrondissement, in the Marais district, near the Victor Hugo's house. It is currently being refurbished, but will reopen in 2020.
The enormous structure of the museum extends into the Carnavalet Hotel and the Le Peletier de Saint-Fargeau, two important noble residences of the 15th century. The collections are exposed in a fantastic background with the atmosphere of Louis XV style rooms. Walking from one room to another you will live every historical era from prehistory to medieval and gallo-roman archeological collection,the French Revolution. You will see paintings, sculptures, furniture and art objects that have characterized each era. The other sections tells important moments of Paris and are subdivided by typology: from graphic arts (photographs, posters, drawings), models of historical reproductions, sculptures, paintings of great value.
