The Panthéon is the historical memory of France. It's a place dedicated to the remembrance of men who marked the history of this country since the French Revolution.
Designed by Jacques Germain Soufflot, this is the first great neoclassical monument inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. In the crypt of this Mausoleum, built on top of the hill of Sainte-Geneviève,are buried a lot of men who have marked the history of this country, such as: Voltaire, Rousseau, Emile Zola, Dumas, Pierre and Marie Curie. The Pantheon was built under Louis XV in 1744, who, after being cured of a disease, decided to consecrate a prestigious monument to the Paris Patron Saint Genoveffa. .
