It was erected from the 14th to the 17th century in Vincennes and now it is a Paris suburb. The castle was the Royal Residence of Charles V. The castle represents the most important French fortress.
This wonderful fortress has preserved much of its glory. You can see its walls, its medieval towers, Sainte-Chapelle and the 14th-century tower, the tallest in Europe. You have to visit also the large and well-kept outdoor garden, which over the centuries, has became more and more an English-style garden.
