The Shard

Modern Architecture London, United Kingdom

Redefining London’s skyline The Shard

Shard London Bridge is a skyscraper in Southwark, London. Opened on July 5, 2012, with its 310 meters high, it's the tallest skyscraper in the UK and the third in Europe.

The London Bridge Tower by Renzo Piano has been renamed The Shard, the "Scheggia" of crystal launched against the sky, it's the centerpiece of the upgrading of the neighborhood around the London Bridge Station. Its pyramid shape is also designed to accommodate in a best way a functional mix: large offices, a five-star hotel in the midtown area and apartments. The last 4 levels are public and host a panoramic gallery to admire the city at 360 degrees.
