The highest panoramic wheel in Europe. With its 135 meters the skyline of South Bank and of the whole city has totally changed ever since the opening in 2000. Don't be afraid of the long queues! You can avoid them by buying the ticket online. The view you get on board of one of the 32 capsules is a must for a London visitor.
Opened by Tony Blair on December 31, 1999, today is one of England's most visited attractions, with an average of about 10,000 visitors per day. A "flight" on the London Eye offers a view of the city that, on clearer days, can reach up to 40 km radius. The fireworks spectacle of New Year's Eve is fascinating: at midnight, the traditional fireworks of the British capital are fired from the wheel. The attraction has changed its name several times: from British Airwais London Eye to the current Coca Cola London Eye, sponsor company since January 2015.
