It is the holiest place for the Jewish religion, the Western Wall. Also known as the Western Wall, it is located in the heart of the Old City of Jerusalem. According to Jewish beliefs, it would be the wall that supported the first and second temple of Solomon. The Western Wall is the only vestige of the Jerusalem Temple as well as the closest point to the Sancta sanctorum. The term, taken from the Old Testament, refers to the sanctuary inside the Tabernacle, and later to the Temple of Jerusalem, where the Ark of the Covenant was kept. Holy Place, it was only accessible to the High Priest during the Yum Kippur festival.
