A sad Legend, a Beautiful location Lovers Leap

Located east of Treasure Beach, Lovers Leap is a 1700-foot sheer bluff overlooking the sea. The name of this place can be linked to a sad legend, which speaks of two enamored slaves who secretly met in the adjacent Yardley Chase Plantation. The owner wanted the girl for himself and arranged to have her lover sell her. Not wanting to be separated, the two hand in hand plunged to their deaths.
