Antico Setificio Fiorentino

Museum Florence, Italy

Florence's Silk Tradition Antico Setificio Fiorentino

Antico Setificio Fiorentino is one of the last remaining workshops for silk manufacturing in the world; it's hand-operated and semi-mechanical looms weave dreams, embellished by a wondrous warper designed by Leonardo Da Vinci. Founded in Florence in the Eighteenth century, Antico Setificio Fiorentino is located in Lorenzo Bartolini 4, in the heart of the San Frediano historical quarter. Today as in the past, it weaves made-to-measure fabrics on antique looms following Florentine tradition. Early reservation is warmly recommended.
