Abdeen Palace Museum

Museum Cairo, Egypt

A historic palace in Cairo Abdeen Palace Museum

Abdeen Palace (Arabic: قصر عابدين‎) is a historic Cairo palace, and one of the official residences and the principal workplace of the President of Egypt, located above Qasr el-Nil Street in eastern Downtown Cairo, Egypt. In 1998, some rooms in the back part of the building were opened to the public and used as a museum, from where also the name Abdin Museum with which this building is often associated. Unfortunately, the rooms that everyone would like to see, like the Byzantine Hall, frescoed in the "Egyptian" art-deco style, are not open.
